The campsite itself boasts high quality facilities, acres of woodland, a working farm and of course our fishing lakes. All this in a beautiful and secluded setting which is perfect for just relaxing, or for the more active, exploring the many footpaths and safe cycle-ways within the and around the site. Sumners Ponds is an ideal touring base, with many beautiful towns and villages nearby. Access to the South Downs and the coast is easy, while Brighton is half an hour by car and London only an hour away. There really is something for everyone.
The campsite can accommodate caravans, motorhomes, campervans, tents and trailer tents across the four camping areas at Sumners Ponds. All the pitches on Bluebell Park, Ribbon Park and Sumners Park have electric hook-up and are a mixture of gravel (hardstanding) and grass. The Rally Field, our non-electric area is open at weekends through the summer months and is for tents only for back-to-basic camping.

Awnings are prohibited this winter, guests are unable to select one on campmanager. T&C’s apply to these bookings, winter dates are 01/11/23 to 01/03/23. Porch Awnings that cover the door only are allowed.
The Entrance to the site and our new Ribbon Car Park is currently under construction. There will be building works happening from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday. Works will be on going throughout the year at the entrance. Due to new road surfacing the entrance is very narrow , please drive slowly and be aware of others leaving the site.
Sumners Ponds is home to four lakeside lodges, each with its own character and charm, enjoying an enviable setting with their own private fishing veranda. These superb log cabins boast fantastic views over the beautiful Sumners lake and offer a paradise to fishermen and nature lovers alike.
The four purpose built self catering holiday cabins stand overlooking the Sumners Lake which is well stocked with Carp to and around 36lb, Perch, Tench, Roach Chub, Bream and Pike, providing excellent course fishing. Fishing from the lodges is included with your stay. However guests are also welcome to fish the other lakes which are near-by providing they have purchased a fishing Day Ticket. All lodge residents are welcome to use all of the other facilities on site.
Sumners Ponds is home to four quirky and beautiful handcrafted Shepherd’s Huts which can accommodate up to two people in each. They’re perfect for a quick stop over and a romantic few nights away and are all situated in the Sumners Park area of the site so have superb views across the Sumners Lake and Farm Pond. Best of all this accommodation is run on a B&B basis so breakfast at The Cafe by the Lake is included each morning! Please note that the Lakeside Shepherd’s Huts are not suitable for fishing.
Our Safari Tent, Swallow’s Hide really is the ultimate in luxury camping and perfect for those who want to ‘ease themselves into camping’! Situated on the bank of the Sumners Lake the outlook and atmosphere is unrivalled. The Safari Tent can accommodate up to four people across two bedrooms so is ideally for small families especially nature lovers and anglers.
The original glamping accommodation, Camping Pods are perfect for those that want the camping experience but don’t want to set up and then take down a tent. Plus you have comforts such as lockable door, heating, lighting and electricity. Our pods are otherwise unfurnished so you need to bring all your camping equipment with you such as bedding. This means you can set your Camping Pod is whatever format works for you. The Lakeside Pods are ideal for fishing too!
