The campsite itself boasts high quality facilities, acres of woodland, a working farm and of course our fishing lakes. All this in a beautiful and secluded setting which is perfect for just relaxing, or for the more active, exploring the many footpaths and safe cycle-ways within the and around the site. Sumners Ponds is an ideal touring base, with many beautiful towns and villages nearby. Access to the South Downs and the coast is easy, while Brighton is half an hour by car and London only an hour away. There really is something for everyone.
The campsite can accommodate caravans, motorhomes, campervans, tents and trailer tents across the four camping areas at Sumners Ponds. All the pitches on Bluebell Park, Ribbon Park and Sumners Park have electric hook-up and are a mixture of gravel (hardstanding) and grass. The Rally Field, our non-electric area is open at weekends through the summer months and is for tents only for back-to-basic camping.
Winter 2025/26 Update
Please note that awnings will not be permitted this winter. Guests will not be able to select an awning when booking on CampManager. Terms and conditions apply to all bookings for winter dates (01/11/25 to 01/03/26). However, porch awnings that cover only the door are allowed.
Additionally, please be aware that construction work is ongoing at the entrance to the site and Bluebell Park. Building works will take place from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday, throughout the year. Due to new road surfacing, the entrance is narrow, so we ask that you drive slowly and remain cautious of other vehicles entering or leaving the site.
Sumners Ponds is home to four lakeside lodges, each with its own character and charm, enjoying an enviable setting with their own private fishing veranda. These superb log cabins boast fantastic views over the beautiful Sumners lake and offer a paradise to fishermen and nature lovers alike.
The four purpose built self catering holiday cabins stand overlooking the Sumners Lake which is well stocked with Carp to and around 36lb, Perch, Tench, Roach Chub, Bream and Pike, providing excellent course fishing. Fishing from the lodges is included with your stay. However guests are also welcome to fish the other lakes which are near-by providing they have purchased a fishing Day Ticket. All lodge residents are welcome to use all of the other facilities on site.
At Sumners Ponds, you’ll find four charming, handcrafted Shepherd’s Huts, each designed to accommodate up to two guests. These quirky retreats are perfect for a quick getaway or a romantic escape, offering a peaceful stay with stunning views of Sumners Lake and the Farm Pond. Located in the picturesque Sumners Park area, they provide the ideal setting for relaxation and tranquility.
Best of all, your stay is on a B&B basis, so you can enjoy a delicious breakfast each morning at The Cafe by the Lake. Please note, the Lakeside Shepherd’s Huts are not suitable for fishing.

The original glamping experience, our Camping Pods are perfect for those who want to enjoy the outdoors without the hassle of setting up and packing away a tent. With added comforts like a lockable door, heating, lighting, and electricity, you can relax in comfort while still immersing yourself in nature.
Our pods are unfurnished, giving you the flexibility to customize the space however you like. Just bring your own bedding and camping essentials to make the pod your own personal retreat. And for fishing enthusiasts, the Lakeside Pods offer a prime location right by the water!
