Want to try something new this festive season? Why not come on down to Sumners Ponds for some Christmas camping!

Get away from the hustle and bustle of your town/city and enjoy a quieter Christmas in the countryside this year, we’ll be here waiting to welcome you.

Christmas Camping Site

Sumners Ponds isn’t just for summer caravanning and camping, we’re open all year-round including Christmas Day!

This means you can enjoy a festive winter camping experience, either in your own caravan, tent, in one of our Lodges, Shepherd’s Huts, Safari tents, or pods.

Our glamping accommodation will be filled with festive and cosy decor, helping you feel exactly like you would at home.

Find out more about our camping and glamping accommodations on our “Staying at Sumners” page.

Christmas Camping Food Ideas

Even we can agree that the food around the Christmas holidays is probably the best thing about it.

Turkey or nut roast, pigs in blankets, roasties, brussels sprouts, stuffing, and lots of gravy – we can’t wait!

But if you’re away from home, how can you get the full experience of a Christmas dinner?

Firstly, our Iris and Lily lodges have a fully fitted kitchen area with a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, wine cooler, dishwasher, and washing machine. (All crockery, cutlery, and cooking utensils are provided). Meaning you can cook your full Christmas meal if you want to!

Our Moorhen and Grebe Lodges also have a fully fitted kitchen area with a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, and fridge. (All crockery, cutlery, and cooking utensils are provided).

Our Cafe by the Lake is also open Christmas Eve 9am – 4pm for a hearty breakfast, light lunch, or a festive mince pie and mulled wine.

Disabled Friendly

Sumners Ponds is a accessible fishery for those with a disability. The best lakes to fish are either Farm Pond or Betty’s Lake.

Farm Pond has a purpose built accessible platform with a ramp from the ajoining car park. This spaceous decked area has three large swims which are all disabled priority. The car park for this lake is directly next to the closest fishing swims so there is not far to travel with your equipment.

Betty’s Lake has two disabled parking areas which are very close to the nearest wood-chipped swims.
