BELL Tents

Let’s be honest, no one enjoys packing away their tent at the end of the holiday – just having to go home is bad enough! Or maybe you want to take the kids camping but the price of modern-day tents is just a bit too much? Maybe you want to go camping with friends but your current tent just isn’t big enough? There are plenty of reasons to hire a tent at Sumners but, whatever your reasons we’ve got you covered! Here is a bit more information to decide which one is best for you.

When can I book?

Bookable from May until September with a two night minimum stay on weekends and a minimum of 3 nights on Bank Holidays. Check in times are 14:00 and check out at 10:00am. 

What is included?

Our Bell Tents are 5m in diameter, sleep a maximum of four and come furnished with the following:

• Indoor lighting.
• 1x 12v and 2x USB charge points for small electric items.
• Indoor matting, coffee table and rug.

All our Lakeside Bell Tents include your own private fishing swim. Fishing is charged as extra. 

Which one to book?

If uninterrupted lake views sounds like your idea of bliss then we have two Bell Tents (Twiggy & Beau) situated on the South-eastern bank of Sumners Lake and two by the Ribbon Lake all with their own fishing swims. Our Ribbon Lake tents (Rosie & Penny) are situated next to our Rally Field camping area and although they are lakeside, they are better suited to small families rather than the seasoned angler looking for a more relaxed stay.

Not too fussed about fishing and just want to take the kids away on a camping adventure? Then the standard Bell Tent (Mouse), located within the Rally Field camping area and set back from the lake is your best bet. It comes with all the same furnishings as the other tents but without the lakeside swim. Fishing is not included for any of our Bell Tents.

All our Bell Tents are a short walk away from our wonderful Ribbon Shower Block and Café by the Lake.

Hire costs are per night and depend on your chosen location:

Standard – £78.75

Lakeside – £89.25

Pets are allowed at the standard fee of £4.00 per dog per night. Maximum of 2 dogs per booking.

*A £200 security deposit is required upon arrival. *

What do I need to bring with me?

We suggest bringing everything you would normally on a camping trip with the exception of the tent. However, we do have various items for hire which can be added at the booking stage.

Additional extras include (per booking):

• Double Bed (Max 1 per tent)- £30 (Single beds ONLY from May 2025)
• Single Bed (Max 2 per tent) – £15 
• Coolbox – £10
• Outdoor camping chairs – £5 per chair
• Picnic table – £35
• Camping Stove – £20 (Includes 1 canister)
