Let’s be honest—no one looks forward to packing up a tent at the end of a holiday. Going home is hard enough! Or maybe you’re planning a trip with the kids and don’t have all the gear yet. Maybe you’re heading off with friends and your current tent just isn’t quite big enough.

There are plenty of great reasons to hire a tent at Sumners—and whatever yours is, we’ve got you covered.

Here’s a little more information to help you decide which option is the best fit for your stay…

When can I book?

Bookable from May until September with a two night minimum stay on weekends and a minimum of 3 nights on Bank Holidays. Check in times are 14:00 and check out at 10:00am. 

What is included?

Our Bell Tents are 5m in diameter, sleep a maximum of four and come furnished with the following:

• Indoor lighting.
• 1x 12v and 2x USB charge points for small electric items.
• Indoor matting, coffee table and rug.
• One double bed with a fitted sheet (duvet, pillows, or sleeping bag not included).

All our Lakeside Bell Tents include your own private fishing swim. Fishing is charged as extra.

If uninterrupted lake views sound like your idea of bliss, you’ll love our Lakeside Bell Tents. Twiggy and Beau sit peacefully on the south-eastern bank of Sumners Lake, while Rosie and Penny overlook Ribbon Lake, right next to the Rally Field camping area. Each comes with its own private fishing swim—ideal for guests who want to unwind by the water. While the Ribbon Lake tents are lakeside, they’re best suited to small families rather than dedicated anglers looking for a more secluded spot.

Just after a fun camping break with the kids? Mouse, our standard Bell Tent, could be the perfect fit. Tucked within the Rally Field and set back from the lake, it has all the same furnishings as the lakeside tents—just without the fishing swim. (Please note: fishing is not included with any of our Bell Tent bookings.)

Wherever you stay, you’ll be just a short stroll from the Ribbon Shower Block and our lovely Café by the Lake.

Hire costs are per night and depend on your chosen location:

Standard – £78.75

Lakeside – £89.25

Pets are allowed at the standard fee of £4.00 per dog per night. Maximum of 2 dogs per booking.

*A £200 security deposit is required upon arrival, plus £50 if you are bringing a dog. *

What do I need to bring with me?

We suggest bringing everything you would normally on a camping trip with the exception of the tent. However, we do have various items for hire which can be added at the booking stage.

Additional extras include (per booking):

• Single Bed (Max 2 per tent) – £15 
• Coolbox – £10
• Outdoor camping chairs – £5 per chair
• Foldable table – £35
• Camping Stove – £20 (Includes 1 canister)
