All four of the Shepherd’s Huts are located in Sumners Park, with ‘Old George’ and ‘Gabriel’ offering enchanting views from the Sumners Lake bank. Adding a touch of literary flair, all our Shepherd’s Huts are named after characters from beloved Thomas Hardy novels, making them a family favourite.

For your convenience, refer to our Camping Map to locate the Shepherd’s Huts. ‘Old George’ (OG) and ‘Gabriel’ (G) are positioned lakeside on the Sumners Lake. ‘Boldwood’ (B) and ‘Bathsheba Everdene’ (BE) are positioned slightly back from the edge of the water. Please note that the lakeside Huts are not designated for fishing activities. Regrettably, all Shepherd’s Huts are not wheelchair accessible.

If you’re travelling with a furry friend, we welcome small, well-behaved dogs for a nominal fee of £25 per stay. Stay connected with the world as free WiFi is available in all our B&B Shepherd’s Huts, ensuring you remain in touch while immersed in the natural beauty of our surroundings.

Sumners Ponds is a accessible fishery for those with a disability. The best lakes to fish are either Farm Pond or Betty’s Lake.

Farm Pond has a purpose built accessible platform with a ramp from the ajoining car park. This spaceous decked area has three large swims which are all disabled priority. The car park for this lake is directly next to the closest fishing swims so there is not far to travel with your equipment.

Betty’s Lake has two disabled parking areas which are very close to the nearest wood-chipped swims.
