Looking at enjoying some time away, and want to dust your fishing rods off? Why not try a caravan fishing holiday at Sumners Ponds!
Caravan holidays are the perfect way to go on holiday whilst keeping all your own home comforts with you.
We explain why caravan fishing holidays are great, and how to have the best caravan fishing holiday!
Home Away From Home
As much as we love camping, there’s something about being able to bring your home comforts with you.
Caravans allow you to bring everything you need for a holiday, within easy reach and access – such as walking gear, food and drink for the duration, changes of clothes, your favourite pillow and duvet, and more!
You can also bring extras without any hassle, like a laptop to watch movies, a bottle of wine for those relaxing evenings, and all your fishing equipment.
No more having to sleep in a sleeping bag or wake up in a cold wet tent. You can start the day off easily with a hot cuppa in the morning, a bacon butty, and set off for a day of fishing!
Sumners Ponds Caravan Accommodation
At Sumners Ponds, we have 5 beautiful camping areas, however, if you’re after a spot to set up and fish we recommend Ribbon Park or Sumners Park.
For more information, visit our “Staying at Sumners” page.
Why Fishing Is a Great Holiday
Fishing is a great activity. It’s great for getting away from the stresses of everyday life, and being one with nature.
Making it into a holiday extends the feeling of peace, which means you can come back to reality more refreshed, and ready to tackle life (pun intended)!
If you need more convincing, read our blog on why fishing is good for you.
Don’t forget to purchase your fishing rod licence before you arrive at Sumners (or any fishery!) – you can do that via the GOV website.
Why Choose Sumners Ponds
We have 5 amazing fishing lakes; Sumners Lakes, Farm Pond, Match Lake, Ribbon Lake, and Betty’s Lake.
They are all well stocked with lots of different fish species, such as carp, perch, roach, pike, bream, and more.
All fishing lakes in Sussex are different, so if you’re looking to visit us for a spot of fishing, then read our top fishing tactics for fishing in our lakes and ponds here.
‘This is my all time favourite campsite and has some lovely fishing lakes and walking which cannot be rivalled. I used to visit when Ribbon Park was just a field and since then the place has gone from strength to strength. Clean toilets and showers if camping and superb well managed lakes. Cannot fault the place and will be back soon’ – Tripadvisor Review
We also hire fishing kits which can be purchased at our reception. They cost the following: £40 per set (£60 security deposit) – 10ft float rod and reel, landing net, unhooking matt, spares kit, bait and a day ticket all included.
For more information on each lake including day tickets, night fishing, and experience levels, visit our fishing page.
Sumners Ponds Tackle Shop
Did you know we also have a fully stocked tackle shop on site?
In our reception building, we have a small but well-stocked bait and tackle shop that is open, not only to anglers visiting the fishery, but to the general public too.
For more information, view our Tackle Shop page.
