The Top 7 Reasons Why Camping is Good for You

It’s no secret that we absolutely love camping! It’s not only great fun, but it’s great for us too. So today, we run through the top 7 reasons why camping is good for you!

Reduced Stress:

Stress levels are at an all-time high in modern life. Camping is a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of it all and reconnect with nature.

A camping trip can help not only mentally, but physically remove us from the stresses of everyday life.

Reduced stress levels are just one of the many mental health benefits of camping outdoors.

Out in the Sun:

Spending time outdoors in the sun is an excellent source of vitamin D. Whilst it might sound a little boring, even just a little bit of vitamin D can make us feel great. Vitamin D also helps to give a healthy ‘outdoor glow’ to our skin.

Just by getting out into the natural world, you’ll feel more energised, happier, and ready to explore!

Unplugging from the internet:

Extended screen time can leave us feeling exhausted, and so time spent outdoors means time away from our screens and electronic devices.

Being outside in the natural light, with fresh air all around, re-energises us and helps us get back to feeling our best.

Relationships:

With work and other commitments taking up so much of our time nowadays, it can be hard to find a moment together.

Camping is one of the best ways to spend meaningful time with those we love, as there are no distractions from the outside world.

Family members, loved ones and friends alike can spend some real quality time together and reconnect in the great outdoors.

Better Sleep:

Imagine waking up to the sound of birds, with the first rays of sunshine lighting up your tent or caravan.

Studies have proven that spending time sleeping outdoors can help bring our sleeping rhythms back to a more natural cycle. Meaning we wake up feeling more refreshed and ready to go!

Exercise:

Another one of the many health benefits of camping is the amount of exercise you get without even really noticing it.

Consider spending a day outside fishing at one of our five fabulous lakes, a walk around our dog meadow with your four-legged friend, even just a game of catch with your family at your tent pitch.

These are all great ways to improve our fitness and general wellbeing without realising we’re getting a workout in!

Hearty Meals:

There’s something to be said about a well-cooked camping meal, whether that’s Dad’s ‘famous’ camping BBQ or a delicious pizza in the summer from our very own Cafe by the Lake.

Everyone loves a hearty meal before spending a night under the stars; there’s nothing better!
